Read Through the Bible in Two Years

It’s right up there on the New Year’s Resolution list for many Christians, sandwiched between going on a diet and spending more time with our family – “this year, I will read through the Bible.”  Maybe you’ve tried to do it once or twice, only to get bogged down somewhere around Leviticus 11:22 (“Of these you may eat any kind of locust, katydid, cricket, or grasshopper”(?)) and finally give up.  If this sounds like you, then let this Bible Plan help you.

The Bible truly is the most amazing book (or collection of books) ever written.  Our hope is that you would not just read through the Bible, but that, in the words of the theologian Eugene Peterson, you would “eat this book.”  Chew on the words.  Swallow them.  Digest them.  Let the words of this book become a part of you, transforming you from the inside out.  Jesus said that those who seek would find, and we encourage you to approach each reading seeking to find God.

Each day will have a passage from the Old Testament and one from the New Testament, with the readings going in rough chronological order.  There will also be occasional reading aides posted to help you as you begin new books of the Bible.  Click here to sign up to have the readings delivered daily to your email inbox.  There is also a comments section where you can add your thoughts and read what other people are saying about the passage.  For a booklet copy (published by Bible Advocate Press), contact us.  Let us help you get to know God and His word!
