I love v. 25, that the nations will bring their splendor into the city. I know there is a popular expression that “you can’t take it with you”, but according to this verse, it seems that in some sense the new heavens and new earth will include some of the majesty of the nations of this world. In this sense, it may be that the fire of the Lord will destroy all that is not of Him and refine all that belongs to Him, so that the new heavens and the new earth will contain all that was good in this world and none that is bad. To think of all the wonders of the nations continuing into eternity, and knowing that we may have all of eternity to enjoy what is good in this world is an amazing thought. Perhaps we should not worry about traveling the world so much in this life, if we will have all of eternity to enjoy the splendor of the nations. I could be wrong, but I hope that this is what this verse means.
